Sonia Kapadia is Deputy Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Equal Justice Initiative, a non-profit organization committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States and challenging racial and economic injustice. Sonia oversees partnerships, special projects, film, branding, marketing, narrative work, and communications. Prior to joining EJI, Sonia was an entrepreneur and executive in the food and beverage sector. She was the founder and CEO of Taste Savant, the Chief Marketing Officer of Gu Chocolate Desserts, which was acquired in 2010 and held numerous brand management positions at PepsiCo in the US and UK. Sonia is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Harvard Business School. She lives in New York City with her husband and three children.
